Q: Exactly how dangerous are indoor allergens? A: Without regularly scheduled allergen cleaning, you are inviting, into your living environment, a host of permanent medical problems, including respiratory problems such as asthma and bronchitis as well as other medical problems including: Eczema, dermatitis, perennial rhinitis, sinusitis, and more. Dust mites are the main trigger to stimute asthma, and asthma is rapidly increasing in the United States. You probably do not fear them for the simple fact that they are so small that you cannot see them with the human eye. They may be microscopic, but they are VERY hazardous to your heath. *Everyday symptoms include: itchy skin (little bumps and rashes), stuffed up nasal cavities, sneezing, puffy eyes, wheezing, tight chest, head or sinus ache, raspy voice, coughing, lethargy, mental fatigue, and even depression! Q: What are the health benefits of a clean mattress? A: Everything from a better night's sleep to disease prevention! For a complete list, visit our Health Benefits page. Q: Specifically, what kinds of indoor allergens are in my bed and in my home? A: You could be living with, and sleeping with dangerous dust mite feces, fungi, bacteria, viruses, decaying skin, pet dander, spores, mold, and more without even knowing it! These harmful organisms are living in your air, mattress, pillows, mattress top, sheets, furniture, carpet, and more! Get a Free Demonstration! Unparalleled Sanitation Method!Have a Healthy RoomGet a Free Demonstration! Q: Can mattress cleaning cure my allergy or asthma? Can it prevent me from getting these? A: No, it will not cure you because these are life-long diseases. We can, however, reduce symptoms and make your allergies and asthma much better. Many customers have reported having no symtpoms after getting regular cleanings. Our cleaning system can not guarantee that allergies or asthma will not develop, but we can guarantee that the likelihood of developing these with our treatments will be severely decreased. Q: How bad can the infestation of dust mites be? A: Keep in mind, there could also be dangerous fungi, bacteria, pet dander, mold, and more! After 10 years, the weight of the average mattress doubles due to dust mite infestation!!! This includes dead and decaying bodys, and feces. Q: Where do dust mites, and other harmful allergens live? A: Dust mites are the most prevalent in mattresses, but they are still thriving in curtains, pillows, blankets, carpet, clothing, toys, furniture, and more! We will give you advice on how to eliminate all of these threats. Q: Can I just clean my bed myself? A: It is impossible to remove all microscopic dust mites without specialized equipment. In fact, cleaning by a non-professional can actualy bring your allergens out from where they were hiding and cause even more pollution. We use state of the art, high-tech equipment to do our cleaning. The safest way is to have your mattresses cleaned by professionals, such as The Bed Med. You can take helpful measures to reduce dust mites between cleanings, and we will gladly explain them to you. Q: Will my sheets and pillow case protect me from dust mites and other dangers? A: No!! Sheets protect you just as much as laying on a fish net at the beach would protect you from sand. Dust mites come through the sheets. They are microscopic, so they can easily fit through the tiniest of holes in your sheets and pillow cases. Q: Can't I just buy special allergy free items to help with dust mites, and indoor allergens? A: First of all, you will also need to purchase special sheets, pillow cases, vacuums, filters, beds, etc...which will cost a lot of money (Hundreds). These items combined will not give you the cleanliness of one of our cleanings. The problem is in the tiny particles from the dust mites that are extremely light-weight and the act of simply "fluffing" a pilow, or rolling over at night while sleeping (this occurs on average 50-60 times per night) cause the particles to become airborne and remain airborne for up to 2 hours while circulating throughout a home and settling on ALL furnishings. This negates the usefulness of dust mite-proof mattress covers and bedding. Also, dust mites and other dangers lurk in your carpet, curtains, furniture, and many other places. In fact, protective sheets, and pillow cases have been proven ineffective by leading scientists, as reported in the New England Journal of Medicine! Q: Why did I not know about the dangers of indoor allergens, and dust mites, or that I could get my mattress sanitized? A: The most obvious answer is that you cannot actually see the dangers with the naked eye. The research of the negative effects of dust mites is fairly new. Mattress cleaning has recently become a HUGE phenomenon in Europe, and it will be hitting the United States soon. There were no mattress cleaning services in Europe 12 years ago, and now there are over 4,000! Q: How dangerous is the air inside my home? A: According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the air in your home may be 5 to 100 times more polluted than the air outside! The EPA also deemed indoor air pollution as America's number one health concern! According to the American College of Allergists, 50% of all illnesses are either caused or aggravated by, polluted indoor air. Q: Do you use chemicals when you clean? A: No. It is dry, odorless, all natural, and chemical-free! 100% SAFE. Q: Will my mattress be wet after cleaning? A: The third step does include a very light mist of an all natural dust mite inhibitor. The mist is so fine and light that the mattress surface is completely dry within ONLY five to ten minutes and ready for the bed to be made. Q: How long does it take to clean my mattress? A: To create an Allergen Free Room, it may take up to an hour or more. For a King or California King, about 25 minutes. For a Queen, Double, or Futon, about 20 minutes. A Twin, Single, or Crib, about 15 minutes. Pillows require 7 minutes each. A typical four bedroom house takes about 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hours. Q: How often should I get my bed cleaned? A: We recommend every 4 months. At the very least, every 6 months. You will receive a discount if you get your beds cleaned within 6 months of your first cleaning. We value your repeat business! Q: Will you clean my upholstered furniture? A: Absolutely, and it is a very good idea to do so. A full length sofa requires 20-30 minutes, a love seat about 15-20 minutes, an armchair about 10-15 minutes. Q: What can I do to be ready for The Bed Med's arrival? A: To make the process as quick as possible, please remove sheets, blankets, and pillow cases prior to our arrival. It is recommended that you wash these items before you put them back on your bed after our cleaning so that you do not transfer more dust mites, and other dangerous items to your newly cleaned beds. Do not worry about mattress stains! This is very common and we've seen it all.

Dust mites can be a serious problem to your health. Did you know these disgusting bugs are actually apart of the arachnid family? This is the same family as spiders and scorpions! Their allergenic by-products are produced from their saliva, feces, sticky egg secretions, and decaying body parts. Dust mites and indoor allergens cause air pollution. The EPA has deemed indoor air pollution as America's number one health concern! •The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology suggest that almost half of all illnesses may be the result of unhealthy mattresses. •The weight of the average mattress doubles after ten years due to dust mite infestation! It can also happen in younger children. •Mattresses contain the highest concentration of allergens in the home, including molds, bacteria, viruses, and dust mites •Dust mites live in 99% of all homes. •Dust mites flourish in warm, humid environments. •Your bed is the perfect environment for dust mites; they love to burrow into fabric and feast on your dead and decaying skin cells. (Humans shed two to three pounds of skin a year...plenty of food for tiny dust mites). •Dust mite populations increase rapidly; each egg-laying female can increase the population by 25 or 30 new mites per week. Depending on its age, your mattress may house between one million and ten million dust mites. •Tossing and turning in bed causes allergens to become airborne and you’re breathing in these allergens every night! •The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has stated that Asthma is the leading chronic illness of children in the United States, and is the most major cause of school absenteeism for a chronic illness. •Asthma can be a very serious illness and kills over 5,600 people a year.
